Author: Paula J. Vester

Variations On a Draw - The draw is the basis of the yarn. The combination of preparation, spinning equipment and the draw produced specific threads throughout the world and history. Depending on the fiber and equipment, people created a draw that made their yarn fit the purpose for which it was intended. In the resurgence of the craft modern spinners have mixed and matched their preparation and draw, sometimes forgetting how it affects the outcome. This handbook encourages us to look again to these combinations to produce the best thread for our purposes.
